COE-NF Grant Ending

The Center of Excellence for Behavioral Health in Nursing Facilities (COE-NF) will reach the end of its 3 years of funding on September 29, 2025. After that date, technical assistance consultations and live training events will no longer be available.
The COE-NF training and resources will be accessible on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website after the grant concludes. Further details on how to access these materials will be provided soon. For any questions, please contact CMP-info@cms.hhs.gov.
Alliant Health Solutions will also continue to support public access to COE-NF resources and training videos by hosting them on this site – www.nursinghomebehavioralhealth.org for at least 1 year (Through September 2026).

Why is COE-NF ending?
COE-NF was funded by a grant through a collaboration between the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for a three-year period beginning in September 2022 and ending in September 2025.
Will the COE-NF website and resources be available after the grant end date?
The COE-NF training and resources will be accessible on the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services website after the grant concludes. Further details on how to access these materials will be provided soon. For any questions, please contact CMP-info@cms.hhs.gov.

Will technical assistance consultations be available after the grant end date?
No. Technical assistance consultations with COE-NF Behavioral Specialists will end on September 29, 2025. Additionally, to ensure we can fully address new requests for support, COE-NF will stop accepting new requests for support after September 15, 2025.
Will COE-NF training events be available after the grant end date?
COE-NF will host the final live virtual trainings in September 2025. After the grant-end, training video recordings and slides will remain available on the COE-NF website for at least one year.
Will training participants be able to receive continuing education credits?
COE-NF will provide training participants with continuing education credits and certificates of attendance for all training that occurs prior to September 23, 2025. If you have an inquiry related to COE-NF continuing education credits or certificates of attendance, please submit them prior to September 23, 2025, so that we can review and respond. After that date, we will not be able to issue or reissue continuing education credits or certificates.
What can nursing facilities do to prepare for the end of the COE-NF initiative?
Contact COE-NF prior to September 15, 2025 and request a behavioral specialist technical assistance consultation, register for the remaining live virtual training opportunities, and download COE-NF resources.
